Summary Judicial commission probing the Mir Raza case will seek written responses from senior police officers instead of summoning them and has issued details of its latest hearing.
KARACHI (Dunya News) — The judicial commission formed to investigate the Mir Raza case has decided to seek written responses from senior police officers instead of summoning them for questioning.
The commission has issued an order detailing the proceedings of its hearing held the previous day. According to the order, the commission recorded the statement of former investigating officer Shabbir Laghari during the proceedings and also heard the position of Ahmed, Mir Raza’s business partner.
The order said Ahmed sought time to meet and speak with Mir Raza’s family. After speaking with the family, he may submit any additional statement through an affidavit. The statement submitted through the affidavit will also be made available to the public.
According to the order, the daily diaries of Ferozabad and Gulistan-e-Johar police stations were received by the commission in sealed condition. However, the statements of witnesses related to the daily diaries had unfortunately already been recorded.
The commission returned the daily diaries in the same condition to the Sindh government’s focal person. It also appreciated the CEO and divisional head of a private bank for their cooperation with the commission.
