PESHAWAR (Dunya News) — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan said Monday that contacts with relevant people at the federal level were continuing and stressed the need to reduce tensions amid recent developments. Speaking to reporters in Peshawar, Gohar said the party had conveyed its message regarding the recent incidents to the relevant people during the ongoing contacts.
He urged the concerned authorities to avoid measures that could further aggravate the situation, describing the treatment of former prime minister Imran Khan’s family members and PTI leaders as regrettable.
Gohar warned that further arrests could make the situation more serious and called for efforts to prevent further deterioration.
“The time has come to stop the situation from worsening,” he said, stressing the need for de-escalation.
His remarks came amid heightened political tensions and the PTI’s preparations for its planned Sept. 27 protest march towards Islamabad.
