ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Zeeshan Arshad, a suspect in the murder case of digital designer Hina Javed, has approached a sessions court seeking bail while denying involvement in her killing.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Naseer Ahmed heard the case.

During the proceedings, the court expressed serious displeasure over the absence of the station house officer (SHO) and the investigating officer. The court observed that the investigating officer had gone to Lahore instead of appearing before the court with the case record.

The court directed the SHO to produce the complete record at the next hearing and warned that no negligence would be tolerated in the sensitive case.

Two power-of-attorney documents were submitted by lawyers representing Zeeshan Arshad. The court noted that two separate biometric verifications and two power-of-attorney documents had been cleared from the jail.

The court ordered that the documents be sent to the jail superintendent for verification and clearance.

Describing the matter as a highly sensitive and high-profile case, the court remarked that no casual approach would be accepted.

Meanwhile, Hina Javed’s family has expressed distrust over the police investigation and the conduct of the authorities. Former Lahore High Court judge Shah Khawar will represent the deceased’s family in the case.

Hina Javed’s brother, Fahad Javed, has also completed his biometric verification.

The court subsequently adjourned the hearing of Zeeshan Arshad’s bail petition until September 14.
