Summary Government reserves Rs300 billion under Pak Exim Bank's export finance scheme exclusively for eligible SME exporters to boost exports and investment.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Ministry of Finance has announced measures to facilitate small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) exporters and boost the country's exports.
According to the ministry's announcement, the entire Rs300 billion allocation under the Pakistan Export-Import Bank's (Pak Exim Bank) Export Finance Scheme has been reserved for eligible SME exporters.
Previously allocated across different business categories, the entire amount will now be exclusively available to small and medium-sized exporters, providing them with access to financing at lower interest rates and opportunities to expand their business activities.
Officials said the fiscal year 2026-27 budget also included measures to reduce the financial burden on businesses through tax cuts and various incentives.
Affordable financing and improved investment facilities are expected to strengthen the competitiveness of Pakistani exporters in international markets, promote business activity and create new employment opportunities.
Pak Exim Bank has issued necessary instructions to the relevant banks to ensure effective implementation of the decision and optimal utilisation of the allocated funds.
The Ministry of Finance said the initiative aimed to support small and medium-sized businesses financially, encourage investment and industrial activity, and increase national exports.
